Geelong has named its playing squad for Saturday's AFLW match simulation against St Kilda, as they prepare for their first hit-out in 2025.

The Cats will take a 24-player squad to RSEA Park which will include some new faces like Emma Kilpatrick, Lexi Gregor and Piper Dunlop.

Some experienced Cats will miss Saturday's match simulation, outlined in the Deakin Health Update on Friday afternoon.

The match simulation will be Geelong's first hit-out in 2025 as they prepare for an exciting campaign, set to take on Gold Coast at People First Stadium next Saturday in an official practice game.

All eyes will then turn to a blockbuster Round 1 clash, with the Cats set to host reigning premiers North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos at GMHBA Stadium on the Saturday 16 August to kick off their season.
