In a surprise to absolutely no one, Jeremy Cameron's incredible 10-goal haul caught the eye of the coaches with the superstar receiving a perfect 10 coaches' votes for his performance on Friday night. 

The superstar forward reached double digits for the second time in his last 13 matches, becoming the first Cat since Gary Ablett Senior to achieve the feat at GMHBA Stadium. 

Max Holmes has continued his climb up the overall leaderboard, now sitting in outright sixth position after receiving six votes in Round 6. 

Able to break the game open with his run and carry, Holmes finished with 28 disposals and 510 metres gained, adding 10 score involvements and six intercept possessions to round out a complete performance. 

Hot on Holmes' heels is Bailey Smith, the star on-baller also receiving six votes on Friday night to move into a tie for seventh position on the leaderboard. 

Smith collected 33 disposals against the Bulldogs, his fifth consecutive game over 30 disposals, while also winning 11 clearances (eight centre clearances) and eight score involvements in another outstanding display. 

Lawson Humphries received his first coaches votes of the year, awarded four after a stellar performance in defence. 

Collecting 24 disposals and an equal game-high eight intercept possessions, Humphries also pushed forward to add a goal, just the sixth of his career. 

Oisin Mullin also received four votes from the coaches, his second time featuring in the votes this season after performing strongly in another brilliant lockdown role.

Tasked with stopping Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli, Mullin held him to just 14 disposals which was the midfielder's lowest total since Round 5 of the 2020 season. 

The AFL Coaches Association’s Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
