Lowther on the Team Focus in the Second Half of the Season
We have made a point to the playing group around the next five weeks, that we are more focused on what we are trying to achieve internally.
If we are doing the things that we are asking from each other, keeping our training standards up, maintaining the way we want to attack our brand of footy and our system, then the outcomes down the track will look after themselves.
It is more about the effort and the competitiveness that we want to bring week in week out, if that secures us a win then fabulous.
But that isn't the primary focus going into the Essendon clash or the weeks following, it's about making sure our brand and consistency piece is right.
We think if we get that part correct, in five weeks time we will be able to look back and realise what is working for us and identifying that this is the right method.
That is what we are trying to achieve over the next five weeks.
Lowther on the Season So Far
Obviously we would have liked to win all games, but we tested the best and did okay in those two losses which was a good sign for us.
We got a few things right, but obviously a few things to work on as well.
I thought we did okay against Melbourne in another testing game, against what we think is the best side in the competition at this point in time.
Even though our last quarter against the Demons was a bit ordinary from a scoreboard perspective, we were happy with some of the key performance indicators after half time.
We have had a couple of great challenges, but it was nice to get three wins out of our five games and it puts us in a great position to attack the next half of the year.
Lowther on Georgie Prespakis’ Milestone Match
She has been impressive to say the least and she just continues to improve.
She is probably her harshest critic and we have to keep reminding her that she has so much influence in other areas of the game, and it's not just about racking up huge disposal numbers.
It's her tackle pressure, her transition, her game awareness and all those things that you pick up with experience.
Her first 24 games have been very impressive, it's funny she gets to play her sister this week who is celebrating her 50th game.
She is raring to go, she has great support and mentors around her.
Lowther on Playing in Regional Victoria
Last year was super down at Warrnambool, it was a really good crowd and a cracking day.
We enjoyed the brand new facility, the ground was in super condition and it was a really good atmosphere.
The community really got around it which made it really exciting to be out there and to get in the mix amongst a new venue.
We are hoping for something similar this week, we have an open session on Saturday which should be fun before the game Sunday.
Then Monday we have a day out in the community where the girls get out to some schools, we promote the healthy heroes, put on an all girls football clinic in the afternoon and a few of us will head to Portland to get around their footy club too.
It will be a really fun few days, we don't get the chance to get out to regional communities much so our girls are excited to get amongst it this weekend.
