Kate Betts has had a longstanding association with the Geelong Football Club and greater Geelong community and the Cats are honoured to welcome Betts to the Board.
Kate brings over two decades of experience in social impact, community engagement, governance and philanthropy in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
A proud Geelong local and passionate Cats supporter, Kate co-founded the charity Geelong Mums and is past vice-chair of St Kilda Mums Inc and the Geelong Community Foundation. Kate currently serves on the Board of the Geelong Cats Foundation.
Kate has recently joined NAB to manage the bank’s corporate foundation and has held senior roles at Alcoa Australia, Give Where You Live Foundation and Westfield.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from RMIT University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Geelong President Craig Drummond said that the Club was excited by Kate’s vast leadership experience, her deeply embedded, longstanding commitment to the Geelong community and the alignment of guiding principles between Kate and Club that it portrays.
“Not only is Kate herself a passionate Geelong person, but she is passionate about supporting and advancing all Geelong people.
“Kate’s advocacy of, and dedication to, the Geelong community has seen her spark action, lead change, and always demonstrate the service mindset that we aspire to emulate.
“Having served as Director on the Geelong Cats Foundation Board, Kate has already contributed enormously to the ongoing success of our Club. We thank her for that contribution and are delighted at the prospect of its expansion in her new capacity as Director.

Betts joins President Craig Drummond, Vice President Diana Taylor and Directors Barry Fagg, Grant McCabe, Lyndsay Sharp, Kate Spargo, and James Sutherland.
Dr Hugh Seward recently stepped down from the Club’s Board after a twelve-year tenure and more than four decades of service to the Geelong Football Club.
