Are there many better forward duos in the competition right now than Jeremy Cameron and Shannon Neale?
Statistically, the superstar Cats could certainly lay claim to that title after a stellar 2025 campaign, igniting the conversation once again after a brilliant outing against Fremantle in Round 1.
Cameron took out the Coleman Medal in 2025 with 88 goals to his name while Neale finished with 44 majors, the third highest total of any second key forward on any team across the competition.
Their combined total of 132 goals was comfortably the most of any duo in the competition, 16 majors clear of the next best team.
After the pair combined for eight goals in Geelong's victory over Fremantle, Cameron said he is excited to work alongside Neale once again and to see what he can produce in 2026.
"He has been awesome," Cameron told media.
"He has always looked to improve each and every week, we feel like he is doing that. I think he is into his sixth year now, he came to Geelong roughly the same time as me.
"It is his time to shine now, it is not going to happen and it doesn't just happen for key forwards regardless of how good or bad you are each and every week.
"It is hard to be consistent, but he is trending in the right direction and we want him to own that forward line like it is his.
"Hopefully I can start getting out of his way and he can push me out of the way, he can start clunking them as we saw against Fremantle.
"He is dangerous when he can get his hands to it."
The next challenge awaiting the Cats comes in the form of the 2025 minor premiers, with Adelaide set to visit for another huge clash at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night.
Looking to build on their impressive comeback victory over Fremantle, the Cats will also be hoping to extend their strong form against Adelaide having won five consecutive matches against the Crows.
Last year's contest was iconic, with Geelong storming back from a big deficit to clinch one of their best victories of the season in the opening match of Gather Round.
Cameron spoke about the upcoming battle and the opportunity that awaits the Cats, as they look to put in a strong performance against another premiership contender.
"There is a bit of talk around how they chip the ball around and build the ball up, all that sort of stuff. There is plenty to talk about at the start of the year, we are all just keen to have footy back," Cameron said.
"I feel like there is a bit more noise than there probably should be, but they are a very good team. We know that, we saw that last year, they finished on top of the ladder for a reason.
"They play a good, flexible brand of football, they have got important players all over the field and they are going to be hard to beat. We are looking forward to Thursday night footy, something that I really enjoy and love.
"It is a great challenge to have them over and try to get the win, hopefully we can have plenty of people out with our home crowd and it is always nice to see GMHBA Stadium full."
