Moloney on where the Cats are placed heading into Round 1

I feel like we are in a really good position, coming off our two practice games. I feel like what we wanted to get out of it as a team, we got.

Obviously there is still a lot of tweaking to be done, I don't think you are ever going to be happy with your product and final product.

It is going to continue throughout the season, but I feel like we are in a good position and we are feeling confident with where we are at.

The reigning champions last year, they are pretty incredible.

I think it is great to get off to a fast start, getting a team like that and finding out where you are at. You find out areas that you are good at and areas that you need to improve on.

Right throughout the competition, it is going to be pretty competitive. Coming off last year compared to my first year here, there was a complete difference in the skill level and the challenge that brought as well.

Every year I find that the competition is improving, even teams that might not have been at the mark last year are going to be up there this year.

It is going to be a really competitive season for everyone. 

Moloney on her pre-season

We did quite well at home in Tipperary this year, we reached a quarter final for the first time in 40 years.

That was pretty incredible, we were the first county ever to win an All-Ireland final so there was a bit of a historic moment there as well.

My pre-season, obviously I have missed quite a substantial amount of weeks here.

I brought home 10 footballs with me in the suitcase and I have been practicing at home since I left, it has been pretty good.

Honestly it is something that I haven't thought of.

When you win these accolades, in the moment and in the time they are amazing, but for me I am a person who just thinks that is history now, that is last year.

There is a saying back home in Ireland that you are only as good as your last game.

For me, even doing as well as what I did in terms of accolades last year, I was quite surprised because personally I thought I had a lot more to contribute in games.

It is great coming in, it obviously gives you that confidence having achieved certain things but for me, there is a lot more that I want to do.
