Geelong Cats Executive General Manager – Football Andrew Mackie can provide the following health updates ahead of Geelong’s Round 15 clash with Brisbane on Friday night at GMHBA Stadium.
Young ruck Mitch Edwards will be a test to play his first game of the season after recovering from injury and completing an extensive conditioning program.
As updated on Monday, Sam De Koning will miss the next four to five weeks after undergoing surgery for an AC joint injury.
Updated timeline on return
Cameron Guthrie (Calf, 1 week)
“Cam has commenced back running after experiencing calf tightness in the Round 11 VFL game against Gold Coast Suns. We will use the upcoming bye period to increase his training loads, and we expect him to be available to return against Richmond VFL after our bye.”
Jake Kolodjashnij (Groin, Indefinite)
“Jake will undergo a minor procedure later this week to help manage ongoing groin symptoms. His current return to play timeline will become clearer once he starts his recovery and begins to increase his training loads.”
Unavailable
Jhye Clark (AFL Concussion Protocol)
“Jhye has entered the AFL’s concussion protocol following an incident in the VFL on Saturday against Werribee. We will know more around his possible return timeline as he progresses through the graded return to play protocol.”
