Geelong Cats’ AFLW program is set to return to Warrnambool and district this week for the Club’s annual AFLW Community Camp, proudly presented by Bulla.
The camp will be run in partnership with the AFL, AFL Victoria and AFL Western District, with players set to visit 26 schools, five clubs and two Auskick centres across the Warrnambool and Camperdown areas across Wednesday and Thursday.
Among the player visits will be an All-Girls Auskick & SuperKick session, with nearly 50 young footballers expected to attend.
The annual camp will also include a leadership breakfast on Thursday, with female secondary school leaders set to attend. The breakfast will include a panel senior coach Dan Lowther and new Head of AFLW Dominique Condo, with six players also in attendance.
With the pre-season now into the full swing, the squad will also have a training session at Reid Oval, with schools in the area invited to attend and watch.
To round out activities, select players will head to visit Heathmere Football Netball Club, the winners of the 2025 Dulux Colour Your Club promotion, with the club set to get a refresh of their facilities.
Geelong Cats Head of AFLW Dominique Condo said the AFLW was thrilled to return to Warrnambool in 2025.
“The Warrnambool and surrounding areas have always been great supporters of our women’s program, and we enjoy being able to head to the region to engage with our members, fans and the wider community,” Condo said.
“For our program, it provides a great opportunity to connect as a group in a fresh environment, and our players always enjoy seeing the next generation of young footballers and students and making a positive impact with them.
“We look forward to an exciting and busy community camp as we continue to ramp up our preparations for the 2025 season.”
Geelong’s 2025 NAB AFLW Season begins at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday 16 August when the Cats host reigning premiers North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos.
