Scott on a Big Friday Night Clash
It is exciting, it is always exciting, Friday night footy at the MCG against any opposition, but we know they always draw a big crowd.
We are really hopeful that Cats fans feel we are building momentum in our season, and there will be a bit of an extra effort to get up to the MCG to counteract the Collingwood army.
We are aiming to put on a good show, we think we are coming into some good form but obviously there is still quite a bit to improve on.
Picking the team is challenging currently, we have got some good problems at the moment.
Scott on the Subtle Coaching Changes
We feel like we have played a little more like the way we aspire to.
It is difficult, the opposition always make things difficult for you, that's the idea.
More than ever I don't think there are any great secrets around the competition, I don't see huge differences in the way teams are trying to play.
Teams have slightly different priorities and different personnel which shapes the way you play, but like I have said it is naive to think that in today's footy you just roll out your style and it will be good enough to win.
I think you always have to be thinking about how you can improve your game and how we are going to adjust to the opposition.
Collingwood are a good example of that, because they will and always have against us, prioritise their pressure around the ball and I think they will be thinking about turning that pressure up.
I feel like the last two weeks since the second half of the Essendon game, aside from some execution is probably as good as we have felt about our game all year.
Scott on Tom Stewart’s Midfield Move
You might remember about 12 months ago he played a little bit of midfield, so this is not something where we thought we need to have a crisis meeting and change the plan.
This has been something that has been evolving over a long period of time, the point I am trying to be specific with is that Tom should take the credit for the evolution of that plan.
This idea that teams either give them attention or they don't I think is a little misleading.
Everyone has a plan of how they are going to stop players like him, we will have a plan for Nick Daicos and they will have a plan for Tom Stewart.
Scott on the Strong VFL Performances
We have had some good performances in the VFL.
I think Lawson Humphries and Shaun Mannagh are examples of what I was trying to explain last week, around keeping an open mind.
We have never been that type of team that wants to get to their best 22 and then leave it there, we believe in cohesion but you can't have such a closed mind.
You need to have a look at someone a bit different like Lawson can bring to our back half, and what Shaun brings to our forward half.
They both took their chances and they will keep playing, but we have very few players who are a complete lock.
