The Cats’ 2024 Smithy’s VFL season will start with back to back games at GMHBA Stadium in March, against Werribee and the Box Hill Hawks respectively.

The Cats’ two interstate games this season will be against Brisbane at Brighton Homes Arena in Round 4 and Sydney at the SCG (TBC) in Round 11.

2024 VFL Match Centre

The VFL Cats will play in three double-headers with their AFL counterparts and two double-headers with the Cats’ VFLW team.

There are three teams Geelong will face twice, with return matches against Box Hill Hawks (Rounds 2 and 15), Carlton (Rounds 5 and 20) and Sandringham (Rounds 14 and 21).

The teams Geelong will not face during the home and away season are reigning premiers Gold Coast, Casey Demons, Essendon, Southport and Williamstown.

The Wildcard Round returns in 2024 after its debut in 2023, with the teams ranked seventh to 10th set to play off for the final two spots in the Finals Series on the weekend following Round 21.

The League will break for a state game on the weekend of 6/7 April, with rounds 14-20 to be a floating fixture. 

Broadcast and streaming

All matches in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL season will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App. Smithy’s VFL broadcast partner, the Seven Network, will broadcast select matches live and free on the Seven Network in Victoria and on 7plus nationally..

Ticketing

Where Smithy’s VFL matches are ticketed, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concession holders and kids under 15 are free. Some venues don't charge for entry. AFL ticketing prices apply for VFL matches played as curtain-raisers and curtain-closers to AFL matches.
