Geelong will welcome back captain Patrick Dangerfield as one of three inclusions to face Port Adelaide on Thursday night.

Dangerfield will make his return to the field for the first time since Round 8, with dashing midfielder Max Holmes and the classy Mitch Duncan also set to bolster the Cats' stocks as they prepare to take on an in-form Power side.

The clash shapes as an exciting one, with the Cats' buoyed after their gutsy win against Western Bulldogs in Round 12, while Port Adelaide has won their past 10 matches in a row and looms as a big test for the Cats on Power's home turf.

Oisin Mullin (injured) and Mitch Knevitt (omitted) are out, while Round 12 substitute Sam Simpson has not been named this week.

Zach Tuohy is earmarked to be managed, but has been named among Geelong's emergencies, alongside Rhys Stanley, Jack Bowes and Knevitt. The Cats will name their substitute one hour prior to first bounce.

The match will also mark a couple of milestones, with Mark O'Connor set to play his 100th AFL game, while Tyson Stengle will celebrate his 50th AFL game.

Geelong takes on Port Adelaide this Thursday night from 7.10pm (local time) at Adelaide Oval.
