Promising young forward Ollie Dempsey made his debut in Round 6 last season, playing two games in his first season as a Geelong rookie. Having spent most of his teenage years focussing on basketball, Dempsey is making great strides in his return to football. He played 14 VFL games in 2022, including a standout performance against Port Melbourne late in the season when he collected 29 disposals and took 13 marks.
