The VFLW Bendigo Bank Cats will face the Southern Saints in a Semi Final at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The first bounce of the must-win match is at 2pm, with the winner to progress to the Preliminary Final against either Collingwood or Essendon next week. The losing side will be eliminated.

Geelong has faced the Saints twice this season, claiming victory in both meetings. The last time they met was in Round 11, when the Cats kicked four goals in the final seven minutes of the game to secure a thrilling come-from-behind win.

The Cats fell to the undefeated Collingwood by just one goal in last week’s Qualifying Final, but will be confident that they can bounce back if they continue to play with efficient ball movement and pressure at the contest. The Southern Saints claimed an upset victory against Port Melbourne in their Elimination Final.

Entry to the game is free, and acting VFLW captain Claudia Gunjaca said the team is excited for support from a vocal Geelong crowd.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had a game in Geelong, and I know all the girls will have some supporters coming along too, so that will be very exciting,” Gunjaca said.

The game will also be live-streamed on afl.com.au (see link below) and updates will be available on the Catswomens Twitter and Instagram pages.
