GEELONG has completed a clean sweep of the Round 6 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award votes after its dominant 97-point victory against West Coast.

Mitch Duncan was awarded 10 votes from coaches’ Chris Scott and Adam Simpson following has four-goal and 26 disposal performance on Saturday.

Cameron Guthrie and Jack Henry each received five votes.

After a lean couple of games by his lofty standards coming in, Guthrie returned to his best with a game-high 35 disposals and 10 clearances.

Henry did a great job helping reduce the influence of West Coast forwards Jack Darling and Oscar Allen with eight intercepts and four contested marks.

Henry was also used in the ruck at times gathering 19 disposals around the ground and pushing forward to kick an eye-catching goal in the second quarter.

Rhys Stanley received three votes in his 150th game.

Stanley did a superb job up against arguably the game’s most influential ruckman Nic Naitanui in the middle. Narrowly losing the hit-out count 25-22 but excelled in using his athleticism away from stoppages with 15 disposals and nine score involvements.

Tom Stewart also received three votes after another consistent performance off half back, while Lachie Henderson and Gary Rohan completed the Cats clean sweep with two votes apiece.
