Geelong Cats can provide the following Deakin AFLW Health Update ahead of Round 1 of the 2026 AFLW Season.

The Cats will begin their 2026 AFLW campaign on Saturday 15 August, taking on North Melbourne in a historic double-header alongside the men’s team at Marvel Stadium.

Alissa Brook (foot) has progressed in the next phase of her rehabilitation, returning to modified training. Alissa is unlikely to feature in the first half of the season with a return to play expected in 7-9 weeks.

Kate Kenny (foot) is progressing well following pre-season surgery to address a stress fracture in her foot. She will continue to work through her rehabilitation, with her return to play timeline to be determined as she progresses through the initial stages of her recovery.

Following an injury interrupted 2025 season, Chloe Scheer has made strong progress throughout the Cats’ pre-season, completing a strong conditioning block and returning to full training. Chloe also featured in last Friday’s match simulation against Carlton, continuing to build her match readiness ahead of the 2026 season. Chloe will continue to be assessed leading into Round 1.
