Geelong's 2019 first round draftees Cooper Stephens and Sam De Koning.

GEELONG is set to enter this year's National Draft with three selections inside the top 16 after Collingwood upset West Coast on the weekend.

The Eagles gave their first-round pick to the Cats last October following a blockbuster trade taking star midfielder Tim Kelly to Optus Stadium. That selection is now locked in at pick No.13.

It leaves Geelong well placed to either load up on gun young talent at this year's NAB AFL Draft, or become a major player during the Trade Period, with three very good first-round selections at its disposal.

That's after the club also acquired pick No.11 in a trade with Gold Coast last November, which helped the Suns land Jeremy Sharp on draft night, as well as still holding its own selection – currently pick No.16.

Expect rival clubs to come calling. Hawthorn and Carlton are two who have already been earmarked to become candidates to potentially offer their selections (picks No.4 and No.7 respectively) for a pair of Geelong's later picks.

The year's free agency window runs from October 30-November 6 and the Trade Period falls November 4-12.

The NAB AFL Draft will be held during the week commencing December 7.
