We take a look at which Cats are in the selection mix to come into the side for this week’s Retro round clash against North Melbourne.

Ryan Abbott (13 disposals, 30 hitouts, two goals)

Abbott continues to press his claims for an AFL debut with another strong VFL performance. The 26-year-old was the dominant ruckman on the ground and pushed forward to kick two crucial goals.

George Horlin-Smith (29 disposals, eight tackles)

The tough nut had another clinical performance with 29 disposals and eight tackles to be named one of the best for the VFL side. Horlin-Smith is never too far away from senior selection.

James Parsons (21 disposals, seven marks, one goal)

The half-forward played his second consecutive VFL match after being dropped. After a 30-disposal game last week, he backed it up with 21 disposals, as he puts together some good form.

Ryan Gardner (Nine disposals, six goals)

The key defender was swung forward for a second consecutive game and managed to slot half a dozen against the Northern Blues. Much like Aaron Black a few weeks ago, Gardner is adding another string to his bow as he nears an AFL debut.

Quinton Narkle (20 disposals, two goals)

Playing his fourth game since coming back from an ACL injury, the young midfielder is building some nice form in the VFL and if it continues, he won’t be too far away from an AFL debut.
