Two Geelong players have been recognised for strong individual performances in the Cats Round One loss to Fremantle on Sunday.

Olivia Purcell was a standout for the Cats playing through the midfield. The 19-year-old registered 27 disposals and four tackles. Her possession tally was the highest registered by a Geelong player in an AFLW game to date.

Her performance was rewarded with five votes from the coaches.

Teammate Julia Crockett-Grills collected one vote after a consistent four quarter performance.

The 25-year-old finished the game with 22 touches and five marks.
