The people have spoken and we’ve listened!
Last week, the club asked supporters through a geelongcats.com.au poll as to whether the iconic timekeepers bell, which is a feature of Simonds Stadium home games, should make its way to the MCG for the massive clash with Richmond on Friday night.
The result was overwhelming with over 2500 fans voting on the poll. 75% of voters said “Yes, let’s make the MCG as blue and white as possible” whilst 25% said “No, it is unique to our home ground and should stay there”.
So we ran the idea by the AFL who have given it their tick of approval.
So as the Cats run out onto the field at around 7.40pm on Friday it will as a past great rings the bell calling the team out.
But who will that past great be?
Stay tuned to the Cats social media channels this week as we give hints as to who it is.
