Geelong is back on the winner’s list after a strong four-quarter performance at the SCG

The side will be looking to go two from two from its road trip, with another difficult assignment presenting itself in the form of Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

The Cats’ VFL side had a bye last week, so AFL hopefuls will be hoping their exposed form across the year is enough to earn them another senior berth.

Sam Menegola

This could be the week for Sam Menegola, who hasn’t played at the top level since Round 7 against Essendon at the MCG. The hard-running mid made a successful VFL return before the bye, gathering 26 disposals and 11 tackles and looks to be cherry ripe for a return.

“We’re keen to get him back into the team – it’s only a matter of time,” Scott said.

“Whether it’s this week or next week, we haven’t quite made up our minds, yet.

“I don’t think it will be difficult to get him in. He’s been a really high-level performer for us.”

Gary Rohan

Rohan was managed for last week’s outing and did not line-up against the Swans. The Cats speedster would have to be a likely inclusion for the Cats’ trip to Perth, with Chris Scott and his coaching staff loving the pressure the Rohan creates in the forward half. If his body is right, a return should be on the cards.

Zach Tuohy

Tuohy was another Cat to be managed for last week’s Sydney outing. Tuohy had played 10 games in a row after returning from a pre-season knee injury, so should be better off for having a week to recharge his body and reset for the back end of the season.

Quinton Narkle

Sparkle Narkle dazzled in his last VFL outing before the bye, picking up 30 disposals, six clearances and two goals against. His name will be raised at the selection table once again.

Lachie Henderson

The experienced defender has impressed at VFL and is one of a squad of defenders being rotated through the side this season, having played in Round 3 this year. Is always an option in defence.

Sam Simpson

Simpson has been knocking on the door for some time now with continued strong performances at VFL level. Yet to play a game at AFL level this season, the elusive Cat would likely need to feature soon if he is called upon this season.
