Gary Ablett's luck with the match review officer has run out with the Cat being handed a one week suspension following Saturday's clash with the Gold Coast.

Ablett was given a one week suspension for a strike against Sun Anthony Miles which was assessed as intentional, low impact and high contact.

The supension is Ablett's first in his 331 game career.

Ablett had been cited twice in the last three weeks for incidents which attracted fines.

The Cats have until Tuesday morning to decide whether to challenge the ban.
