The Cats have recorded their 8th straight win with a 63 point win over the GIANTS at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong’s home pride round match.

The opening quarter started in trademark fashion, with Aishling Moloney fantastically finishing off a brilliant running play from the Cats to begin the scoring, and the Cats were away.

Jackie Parry continued her strong marking form, converting 2 goals from plenty of early opportunities, whilst the Cats pressure was hot, with Jasmin Stewart nailing a tackle inside 50 to set up a Mikayla Bowen goal. Bowen also lead the disposals on the ground with 12 at the quarter break.

Transition play and pressure was all the rage with the cats smothering the giants into their D50 and taking full advantage. Bryde O’Rourke sailed through a contest and finished off a classy goal to keep the cats rolling during the second quarter.

Jackie Parry added 2 more goals to her season tally (20) as the Cats looked too sharp going forward. Chantel Emonson and Annie Lee were integral in the first half, stopping the giants being able to enter their own forward 50 numerous times. They, along with the defence, keeping the Giants to 1 goal at half time.GWS ramped up the pressure in the third, with the game becoming more of an arm wrestle. Georgie Prespakis continued her fine form the season, with 8 clearances to 3qt, finishing with 40 disposals and a fantastic handball assist for an Amy Mcdonald goal.

Not to be outshined, Aishling Moloney set the crowd alight with a brilliant baulk and finish for goal from 40m out.

The giants softened the scoreboard late, but a Nina Morrison goal after the siren had the margin finish at 63 points.
