Following the conclusion of Geelong’s AFL season, several players will undergo post-season surgery.

Jeremy Cameron will undergo revision surgery on his right forearm later this week. Cameron is expected to return to pre-season training with the group at the end of November and will be able to resume running during his rehabilitation, with a return to contact training anticipated in the new year.

Bailey Smith has undergone a right shoulder reconstruction, for a chronic shoulder complaint he has managed this season. Similar to Cameron, Smith is expected to commence pre-season training with the group and is planned to return to contact training early in 2027.

Mitch Edwards will undergo a minor arthroscopic procedure on his right knee. The surgery is not expected to impact his pre-season preparation.

Rhys Stanley will undergo scans this week on a suspected pectoral injury sustained during Geelong’s VFL Preliminary Final on Sunday. Stanley will be unavailable for this weekend’s VFL Grand Final.

With the season now finished, surgery is the best course of action to ensure he is in the strongest possible position heading into pre-season.

“Bailey has managed a chronic shoulder complaint during the season, surgery will provide the best pathway for his recovery and preparation for 2027.”
