Geelong's new player-driven podcast, The Cats Corner, has uncovered several surprising truths about some emerging stars.
Specifically coming under fire was Connor O'Sullivan, who hosted this week's episode alongside George Stevens and Shaun Mannagh, with his preferred food combinations certainly causing a stir.
The first revelation was his love of gravy, but he followed it up with a controversial take on one of Australia's greatest icons.
But this was all revealed after a thought-provoking question that clearly stumped two of the hosts, sparking an entertaining conversation about their strong opinions.
"What is a hill that you will die on?" Shaun Mannagh asked the group.
Connor O'Sullivan added, "Do you boys want to answer what hills you mentioned before the pod?"
"Happily," Stevens replied. "I said South Warrnambool Footy Club hill. It is known to be on a hill, so I would happily die on that."
"And I said Monument Hill, which is in Albury and it is probably the steepest hill you could ever imagine," Mannagh contributed.
O'Sullivan chimed in, "I just want to clarify, before the show I actually gave them the heads up and I said look, I think the phrase is meant to mean something that you are so passionate about. I just wanted to shout these two out because they doubled down on it, both of them and backed each up which I found was astounding."
But O'Sullivan would make a startling revelation about which hill he would die on.
"I actually wanted to put one that you mentioned earlier, Promite over Vegemite any day."
Stevens responded, "That is ridiculous."
"The first week we got to the club, we all lived together in Torquay for three weeks. We went shopping and he bought the Promite.
"We're trying to make good first impressions and this bloke buys Promite."
"Nobody ate it except him," Mannagh confirmed.
The connection was evident between the trio, who were all recruited to Geelong in the 2023 AFL Draft.
O'Sullivan was the Cats first selection at pick 11, followed closely by Mannagh at pick 36 and Stevens at No. 58, all starting their AFL journeys together.
It meant that they had some fascinating stories from their time together and the food debate did not stop there, with the trio also opening up on some of their strange food combinations.
"What is the weirdest food combo you actually like?" Mannagh asked.
"I have one, but it is not necessarily a combo," O'Sullivan said. "It is just anything with gravy."
"Loves his gravy this bloke," Stevens retorted.
"Anyway, I have a massive tub of it at home. It is the pub gravy and it is so good, it is actually so good. I chuck it in the pot, heat it up," O'Sullivan explained.
Stevens added, "I would say on sourdough toast, I would put Vegemite and then eggs."
Mannagh agreed, "I think that's fair, that is acceptable.
"I have got two. One I grew up with, my Mum loves it and still has it now, is cheese and apple. Give it a go, it sounds strange. Also carrot and peanut butter."
