Described by coach Chris Scott as "one of Geelong's best players all year," Tanner Bruhn continues to put together a sublime start to the 2026 season after another dominant outing against the Eagles on Sunday.
After starting the year across half back, Bruhn predominantly played through the midfield at Norwood Oval and it worked to great effect, as he had a significant impact both inside and outside the contest.
The star Cat finished with 28 disposals, five clearances and seven tackles against the Eagles, while also using his pace to amass 510 metres gained and helping to spark plenty of Geelong's ball movement.
But what was most impressive was his ability to get dangerous in the forward half, recording 11 score involvements and two goal assists to go with eight inside 50s, capping off a brilliant outing from the young gun.
Bruhn shared his thoughts on the game following his incredible performance, noting how important it was for Geelong to stick to their plans in order to break the game open.
"I thought it was a pretty hot contest early," Bruhn told Cats Media.
"They are a good side, they play a good brand of footy and when they are up and going, like any side you have to respect it and honour it.
"Up until half time it was pretty hot, but I thought we just needed to keep playing to our system and eventually the game broke open which was nice.
"We just had a strong focus around the ball and around our contest. Our hunt around the contest was super I thought, one we got that going the game opened up for us."
The display on Sunday continues a phenomenal run of form to start 2026 for Bruhn, making his presence felt with ball in hand while consistently challenging opposition teams with speed and endurance.
Across his first five matches, Bruhn is averaging 25 disposals and six score involvements per game, recording 24+ disposals in four of his five appearances.
Sunday afternoon provided a different challenge for the Cats at the notoriously narrow Norwood Oval, but it was a challenge that Bruhn embraced and said it took him back to his junior days.
"It was a different experience, that is for sure," Bruhn said.
"Rocking up yesterday for captains run, I thought I haven't played on a ground like this since local footy years ago.
"We just adapt to it and adjust, I thought it was cool.
"The crowd really got involved and it was a good experience, a good atmosphere. We weren't complaining at all."
