Webster on the return of football
I feel like every pre-season comes around really quickly.
You have that off season period where it feels like it goes forever, but then pre season hits and you blink, all of sudden you are playing opposition.
It is super exciting, pre season is always really fun.
It is also good to knock off all the hard running, to know that you have got games to prepare for now.
Webster on the importance of practice games
It is awesome to play some opposition and to practice some of the structures that we have been working really hard on in the off season and pre season.
We have got some new girls in the team now, so getting them across a few things. It is super exciting, we are bringing that together against some opposition.
It is good to have a couple of hit-outs too before Round 1, just to tighten up certain things that you want to work on.
It is super exciting to have those opportunities, but it is a bit of fun and a chance to practice our craft.
Webster on her role this year
I have been training there [half back] and I find that is probably my most natural position.
Dan and the coaching staff will always throw in a few things when they need to, so I think having that versatility across the ground is always good.
I will do as I'm told and play where they want me to play, but I do love playing off half back.
Webster on the new faces down back
It is super exciting. It is good to coach those young ones through those parts of the ground as well, which is awesome.
The likes of Lexi, Emma and Sienna have been awesome to have back there, they are all natural leaders anyway as well.
You sort of have to stand up in the backline and have a real strong communication style, so they have fitted in there really nicely.
Webster on the start to the season
I think it is super exciting, playing North Melbourne here in Round 1.
They are the reigning premiers and we get to host them, so is super exciting. We haven't quite gotten the four points off them, we were close last year with the draw.
I think that is a good rivalry between Geelong and North, we are super excited to play them here in Round 1.
We have got such a great supporter base as well, so to have it at GMHBA Stadium on a Saturday afternoon when friends and family can get down, it is enticing that 3:30 time slot. It is really exciting to play some of the better teams straight up, to see how we match up with them early on.
