The 2025 NAB AFLW fixture has been officially announced, with Cats members and fans set to enjoy a historic 12 game home and away season filled with family-friendly and action-packed matches.

Geelong will open its campaign by welcoming 2024 reigning premiers North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos for a Round 1 blockbuster at GMHBA Stadium, a highly anticipated clash after the two sides played out a thrilling draw in 2024.

Along with hosting the Kangaroos, Geelong will have five additional games at GMHBA Stadium, with the Cats to host Sydney (Round 3 – Indigenous Round), Hawthorn (Round 7), Carlton (Round 8), GWS Giants (Round 9 – Pride Round) and Melbourne (Round 12).

The Cats will continue to host a home game during AFL Grand Final Week, with the Hawks travelling to Geelong for Thursday night football on the eve of the Grand Final Eve Public Holiday, a fixture that is quickly becoming a staple in the Cats’ AFLW calendar.

For Melbourne-based members and fans, the Cats will play in Melbourne twice, playing Essendon at Windy Hill (Round 4), the first time the Cats have returned to the history-rich venue since Round 19, 1988, and to Ikon Park to play Richmond in Round 5.

The Cats will travel interstate three times, with two trips to South Australia to face the Adelaide Crows (Round 2, Unley Oval) and Port Adelaide (Round 6, Alberton Oval), as well as taking on West Coast at Leederville Stadium in Round 10, in what is the second week of Pride Round.

In Round 11, the Cats will venture to Ballarat, with a date against the Western Bulldogs at Mars Stadium.

The Cats will celebrate Pride Round at GMHBA Stadium in Round 9, while Indigenous Round will run across Rounds 3 and 4, allowing each club to host a home game for the feature rounds.

Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Marcus King welcomed the 12-round fixture.

“We are pleased with the release of our AFLW fixture, and the opportunity to host six games at GMHBA Stadium for the first time, starting with the reigning premiers in Round 1,” King said.

“From a performance and timeslot perspective, we play nine day or afternoon games, which is something that appeals to our fans especially in Geelong, while we have the opportunity to play three games in a row at GMHBA Stadium in round seven, eight and nine.”

“We feel we have a great mix of opponents visiting Geelong, including four Melbourne based teams, and along with the remaining men’s fixture, our members and fans have the opportunity to attend 12 more games at GMHBA Stadium between now and the conclusion of the 2025 AFLW season.

“The Thursday night timeslot in Grand Final week is a fixture that we look forward to every year, and to welcome the Hawks again down the highway to kick-off a massive weekend of footy will be exciting.”
