It was not the ending the team would have wanted, but the VFL Cats provided plenty to be excited about this year as they returned to Finals action for the first time since 2019.

The top highlight from 2024 came during Geelong’s scintillating run early in the season, winning eight consecutive games between round two and round 11.

A wide variety of players ran through the VFL Cats team across the year from new draftees to local prodigies, even an appearance from the Geelong Football Club games record holder.

It was a big step in a positive direction for Mark Corrigan and his side this year, building a solid foundation heading into an exciting 2025 campaign.

 Best Moment

The VFL Cats recorded a number of impressive wins throughout their 2024 season, but the best of the lot came in round four when Geelong headed north to take on Brisbane.

Against a Brisbane full of AFL talent, Geelong stayed within striking distance for much of the match and trailed by just seven points heading into the final quarter.

The Cats clinched the lead late in the last term, before a pair of incredible defensive efforts from Mitch Knevitt and Dan Capiron sealed the victory.

Mitch Hardie amassed 32 disposals and eight clearances, Ted Clohesy collecting 26 possessions and laid 13 tackles, while Gary Rohan led the way down forward with a game high three goals.
