With their first pick in the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft, Geelong have selected Evie Cowcher from Western Australia.
Hailing from the Peel Thunder in Western Australia, Cowcher is an impressive intercepting defender with plenty of athleticism, also possessing a strong pair of hands and ability to read the play.
Cowcher entered the 2025 AFLW Draft as one of the most decorated players available, following an incredible junior career that saw her accumulate a plethora of awards.
In 2023 Cowcher was awarded All-Australian honours at both under 16s and under 18s level after a sensational display at the National Championships, winning Western Australia’s MVP awards at both levels.
She once again received MVP and All-Australian honours in 2024, but unfortunately an injury then limited her 2025 campaign.
Prior to her representative career, Cowcher played for Boddington and then moved to the Pinjarra Tigers after the Covid pandemic.
Geelong will have two more selections in the Draft on Monday night.
