Geelong has named first round draft pick Connor O'Sullivan to its extended squad to take on North Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Named in the back pocket, O'Sullivan is set to make his debut after being taken with the 11th pick in the 2023 AFL National Draft out of the Murray Bushrangers.

Ruck Rhys Stanely will play his 200th AFL game after beginning his career with St.Kilda, before crossing to the Cats and playing 141 of those games in the Hoops.

Geelong coach Chris Scott was full of praise for the beloved big man when he spoke with media on Thursday morning.

"I'm really proud of Rhys. We brought him in with a specific role in mind that he hadn't played much of at AFL level," Scott said.

"But we brought him in specifically to be a ruckman and he's just been terrific value for us. He's been a really good person to have around the club and performed well for us on the big stage."

Geelong has won their first four games of the 2024 season, while the Roos are yet to open their account and are currently in 17th place on the AFL ladder. The Cats have won the past 11 encounters between the two clubs going back to 2016

Gates open at 11am and the first bounce is at 1pm. For more information, including ground activations and ticketing, click here.

The final team will be released at 5pm on Friday.
