Getting here by Train

Trains are running between Southern Cross and Geelong Station to the regular timetable and shuttle buses will transport passengers from Geelong Station to South Geelong Station for the game at GMHBA Stadium.

Updates for this Round

From 4pm until the last train service on Saturday 20 July, V/Line replacement coaches at South Geelong Station will operate from a temporary coach stop on Verner Street near the childcare centre. After the siren, shuttle buses will depart frequently from Verner St to Geelong Station.

Please consider the below when planning your journey:

  • Note that the bus journey may take up to 40 minutes due to increased traffic congestion, and those who are able are recommended to instead walk (approximately 20 minutes).

  • Passengers travelling to Marshall or Waurn Ponds are advised to catch their regular coach replacement service from Verner Street.

  • Pick up/drop off Zone: the zone is expected to be very busy, please allow extra time for your journey home.

  • Traffic management and customer service staff will be on site at Verner Street to assist passengers.

  • Myki facilities are not available at South Geelong Station. Please touch on/off at Geelong Station.

  • A temporary V/Line office, toilets (including an accessible toilet) and a sheltered waiting room will be available while coaches replace trains from South Geelong Station. These facilities are accessed from Yarra Street.

  • If you require accessibility requirements, you can approach the V/Line customer Service office on Yarra Street for assistance.

For more details on the current works taking place around the South Geelong Station, visit: Geelong Line Updates – Current Works.

Geelong is approximately one hour from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station, with the Geelong Railway Station situated 1.8 kilometres to the north of the stadium and South Geelong Station located 450 metres to the east. Making ‘getting to the stadium’ simple and convenient.

Additional services may be provided by V/Line on Major Event days. Patrons are encouraged to visit the V/Line and/or Public Transport Victoria websites, for more information.

Getting here by Car

Geelong is 75 kilometres from Melbourne accessible via the Westgate Bridge and following the Princes Freeway.
In Geelong, the Princes Freeway becomes Latrobe Terrace (no turns required). Once you reach the set of traffic lights directly adjacent to 7-Eleven turn left onto Kilgour Street and make an immediate right. This will take you straight into Kardinia Park’s main entry being Kilgour Street.

Getting here by Bus

Public Bus Stops are located along Moorabool Street, directly opposite Gate 5 – Bernie Smith (river end) and Gate 1 – Polly Farmer (city end).

Please note: The bus routes are subject to change based on road closures along Moorabool Street – these will be implemented for specific Major Events and you should continue to monitor the Kardinia Park website for updates.

Parking

C7 Car Park accessible via Park Cres will be closed to the general public due to wet weather conditions.
