Geelong’s Aishling Moloney has won the 2023 AFL Players' Best First Year Player Award, presented by KPMG.

The award, which is voted on by the AFLW playing group, was presented to Moloney at the AFL Players' MVP Awards on Tuesday night at Luminare in South Melbourne.

Joining the Cats from County Tipperary in Ireland just five weeks before making her AFLW debut, Moloney has had a major impact on Geelong’s forward setup, playing 13 games, and kicking 10 goals.

The 185cm former Gaelic star adapted to the Australian game with ease, with her athletic ability, marking, and prowess in front of goal a feature.

Moloney averaged 10.5 disposals, 7.5 kicks, 3.3 marks, 1.5 tackles, and 0.8 goals per game in her debut season.
