Some key points from List Manager Andrew Mackie's interview on AFL Trade Radio.

Andrew Mackie on… Ollie Henry

He wants to come down and play for Geelong. It popped up late, that one.

We were aware that he was out of contract but we didn't knock the door down to his manager given he is a second year player because it’s not something we tend to do, but clearly, his brother plays down here and we were aware of the situation.

But by the end of the year, we were aware that he'd be keen to get down here.

Am I confident (a deal will get done)? I can't say. I mentioned yesterday, the common value for these guys where there is still a lot of projection involved in their playing is tough but we sat down with Collingwood yesterday and we'll do that again.

Andrew Mackie on… Jack Bowes

(We’ll hear) in the next little while.

We've caught up with Jack, it was a really good catch up. We've been aware and talking to his management for a long time about how he's going up north, so we're looking forward to hearing where that lands. We'd love it to be us.

We've been aware of his playing attributes for a long time. We've been on record saying this year - we'll need to transition our midfield very soon and we're making sure we're doing steps to do that. Clearly, we were linked with (Jacob) Hopper throughout the year but in that same discussion was Jack Bowes so it goes back a fair way.

With Gold Coast, we're confident a trade can get done but the ins and outs of we haven't discussed because there's no point talking about it until he chooses where he wants to play his footy next.

Andrew Mackie on… Tanner Bruhn

I couldn't tell you which (deal) would land first, there's still work to do with Tanner. I had a chat to Jason McCartney yesterday, it was really good. But there's still work to do, teams have got their value for players but like I said we'll keep working to make sure that everyone does ok out of it.

Andrew Mackie on… Conor McKenna

We've spoken to him throughout the year, albeit a while ago. We've got people in our football club who have dealt with him in the past at Essendon, James Kelly being one of them, and was complimentary about Conor.

We've had a discussion about him, clearly, he can come on as a Rookie List player and that's attractive. There hasn't been much discussion about Conor for a little while but we have spoken throughout the year and I'm sure we'll pick up that conversation and see where he's at and what he's thinking.

Andrew Mackie on… Esava Ratugolea

Esava is an interesting one. We've put games into Sav and he's been a big part of our succession plan forward of the footy although throughout the year as a circuit breaker we through him behind the ball and he showed some really good signs as a key back - athletic and did a good job.

Clearly, blokes like Sav, six years into the system want to start playing footy and we've had that discussion with him and we continue to try and map that out for him and how it would look.

He's a contracted player and no doubt the coach loves him, we love him, but totally understand that he's trying to work out where he's going to play his footy, we're pretty clear on how that looks, so that's where that one sits.
