GEELONG'S VFLW team will be back in action this weekend when they host Carlton in Round 1 at Deakin University on Saturday afternoon.
The season opener will commence at 2pm AEDT, with the Geelong Falcons hosting the Oakleigh Chargers in a curtain raiser from 11am AEDT.
The Bendigo Bank Cats have named a strong lineup with Stephanie Williams, Carly Remmos, Danielle Higgins, Claudia Gunjaca, Georgia Clarke and Olivia Barber named to play from Geelong's AFLW team.
The Cats will have five new faces with Isabella Hill (Grovedale), Taylah Nelson (Grovedale), Melissa Bragg (Netball) and Sophie Dineen (Barwon Heads) set to make their VFLW debuts.
Joining the new arrivals with be some familiar faces too with Elise Coventry, Emily Ramsay and Annie Haigh back in action for the Cats after missing last season.
