Since making her move to defence in Season 7, Gunjaca has cemented her spot as one of the Cats’ tall pillars in the backline, teaming wonderfully with Meghan McDonald deep in defensive 50. An incredible intercept mark who reads the play well, Gunjaca gives plenty of opposition forward lines headaches with her ability to cut off play, launching the Cats on the rebound. Gunjaca enjoyed a breakthrough 2023 season in defence, ranking first in the league for intercepts (96) and equal-sixth for marks (51).
