Amy McDonald became the first Geelong player since Dick Grigg in the early 1900s to win three consecutive club best and fairest awards from Seasons 5 to 7. The star midfielder continues to grow her game, and has established herself as one of the preeminent onballers in the competition, earning All-Australian selection for the first time in Season 7 after leading the league for average disposals and contested possessions, as well as sitting eighth in the competition for average tackles. McDonald is known for both her offence and defence, laying a crunching tackle one moment, and then dodging and weaving through traffic one moment to propel the Cats forward the next. McDonald is a two-time winner of the Geelong Cats’ AFLW Fan MVP.
