In his third appearance, the Western Jets product collected 20 disposals against Port Melbourne, following that with back-to-back games where he kicked two goals later in the season. 

He showed that he can play both forward and back across the year, finishing with an average of 11 disposals and kicking six goals. 

Geelong delisted Matofai-Forbes at the end of 2025 but re-drafted him to their rookie list, meaning he will return to the Cats for the 2026 season.
