Starting the 2025 season in defence, Oisin Mullin found his niche through the middle of the year in a negating role and excelled against some of the competition's biggest names.
The Irish star was first sent to Nick Daicos and quelled his influence in Geelong's Round 9 victory over Collingwood, before holding Port Adelaide star Zak Butters to just 20 disposals and three clearances a fortnight later.
After doing a stellar job against Gold Coast's Touk Miller, Mullin faced Butters again later in the season and incredibly limited the brilliant on-baller to just 10 disposals, his lowest total in a non-substitute affected game since 2020.
Mullin also did a terrific job on Hugh McCluggage in Geelong's Qualifying Final victory, kicking the first goal of his AFL career to whip the Geelong faithful into a frenzy at the MCG.
After signing a two-year contract extension midway through 2025, it will be intriguing to see how Mullin progresses after developing into a versatile asset that can play a number of different roles.
