Geelong's newest Irish recruit faced a slow start to the season as he adapted to the rigours of AFL football, but Burke showed plenty of promising signs when he was inserted into the Cats' VFL team.
While not a big disposal winner, Burke's speed and skill meant that he had the potential to make every disposal damaging, playing a forward role and setting up plenty of scoring opportunities for teammates.
In his VFL debut against Gold Coast, the Irishman produced a moment of magic with a brilliant left foot finish from the boundary, kicking his first career goal in incredible fashion.
With a full year adapting to the game and Australian conditions under his belt, expect to see Burke continue to get more comfortable with the oval-shaped ball and watch for his progression as the season commences.
