Geelong forward Gryan Miers has extended his stay with the Cats, signing a two-year contract extension.

The effervescent Miers has played 57 games and kicked 58 goals since debuting in the opening round of the 2019 season. He played 53 consecutive games from his debut before a leg injury sidelined him this year.

Miers was named as the Cats best young player in 2019, and he has played seven finals among his 57 games.

“Gryan is a highly intelligent footballer who continues to work and improve on his game. He cares deeply about the club and we see him as an important player for our team, both now and into the future,” Geelong’s general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.

“There was mutual desire to extend the contract and we are glad to have finalised the details. While Gryan is sidelined currently we are optimistic in his return over the coming weeks.”
