Miers has earned his stripes according to Corey Enright.

GEELONG forwards coach Corey Enright believes Gryan Miers has completed his ascension to the status of a consistent senior footballer.

The Ablett protégé hasn’t missed a beat in the past two seasons, managing 46 games and booting 47 majors in the process.

Enright hopes the mercurial Cat will take his place as a key cog in Geelong’s 2021 attacking setup.

“Gryan is probably at that stage of his career now where he’s played enough footy and cemented his place in the side,” Enright says.

“He did follow Gaz everywhere so hopefully he can implement some of the things that Gaz could do.”

The Cats will be hoping fellow young forward Esava Ratugolea can take a step forward in 2021 and find some of the consistency shown by Miers.

Ratugolea was in and out of the side last year after a tantalising 20 games in 2019.

The flying Fijian’s upside is undeniable, with his dominant 2019 semi-final performance a clear indicator of his sky-high potential.

"We’re really excited about what he can bring and what he’s shown so far on the track," Enright says.

"He’s come to work and he’s come to improve. He’s looking really good and he’s training really well. He’s consistent at the moment.

"Obviously last year with the lack of games at the second tier level, that probably hurt him and a few of those guys.

"We’re just trying to create chances for him to do what he does well and use his attributes as best as he can."
