A defining moment for Chris Scott and his match committee this week as the Cats look to bounce back from the loss to the Dockers on Saturday. Will there be changes galore or will faith be put in the group. With some injury clouds the choice may be taken out of their hands. So in alphabetical order...

Tom Hawkins
The Tomahawk was a late withdrawal for the Cats and it hurt. Without his focal point up forward the Dockers were able to sit giant Aaron Sandilands down there to take numerous marks. There is no question a fit Hawkins is an automatic selection. He also booted a bag of six against the Power back in round nine.

George Horlin-Smith
Another Cat who could bring a new look to the Cats midfield clearance work. After winning a rising star nomination for his work against the Swans Josh Kennedy earlier in the year, the Cats most calmest player could be a big inclusion.

Josh Hunt
A cloud of Corey Enright may open the door for the Cats veteran defender. With small forwards Chad Wingard and Angus Monfries in electric form, the Cats will need some backup for Cam Guthrie.

Taylor Hunt
A late withdrawal against the Dockers with an ankle complaint, Hunt could be invaluable as a shut down player this week. If he can re-capture his pre-injury form, he makes the Cats a much more solid looking outfit.

Shane Kersten
If Hawkins isn’t fit do the Cats look to the VFL side’s leading goal kicker. Hawthorn famously selected Dermott Brereton for his debut match in a final, could the Cats do the same?

Jordan Murdoch
With talk of the Cats lacking enough speed to combat the Dockers, will Chris Scott look to bring in the Cats fastest man Murdoch? With line breaking ability and a great goal sense, the MCG at finals time may be perfect for him.

Jackson Sheringham
Sheringham is as tough as they come and has earnt the respect of the Cats playing list in a big way. Best on ground in the VFL’s last couple of performances, Sheringham could come in and play a role in the backline or wing.

Jordan Schroder
Coming off the JJ Liston trophy last week, Schroder could be brought in to sure up the Cats clearance work. A head down, desperate kind of player, he could be suited to the hustle and bustle of finals footy.

Billie Smedts
Despite not playing since round 19, Smedts has shown in his 13 games this year he has the ability to be a key player for the Cats. With forty tackles and 12 goals this year, Smedts has the ability to keep the ball in the Cats forward line and kick goals.

Jesse Stringer
Another tough as nails player, Stringer is an intriguing proposition. Has shown he can match it at the elite level. Another who will be ready to go.

Jackson Thurlow
Another option for a small defender role, Thurlow showed earlier in the year he doesn’t shy away from the big stage. With pace to burn and strong hands, the Cats would have no problems bringing him into the side.
