Geelong will host the Hawks in Round 2.

Geelong will play three of its next four games at GMHBA Stadium, with the AFL announcing the fixture for rounds 2-5.

The Cats will host Hawthorn on Friday 12 June, with Carlton also travelling for a Saturday night encounter on 20 June. Matches against Melbourne at the MCG and Gold Coast at GMHBA Stadium follow in Rounds 4 and 5.

“The release of the fixture has created a buzz for everyone at the club, our members and supporters, as it moves us closer to being back on the field,” Geelong CEO Brian Cook said.

“To have three home games at GMHBA Stadium is exciting. Hawthorn hasn’t been here to play since 2006, and this will add a unique aspect to the game for all those watching on Channel 7 and Fox Footy.

“We have seen Carlton down here in the past few years and Gold Coast has been a regular opponent. Playing away at the MCG is always a great part of footy, recent games against Melbourne have been fierce.

“We are pleased that the AFL has recognised the importance of our club playing home games at GMHBA Stadium and look forward to the resumption of the 2020 season."
