Five AFL listed players will take part in a VFL practice match against Werribee on Friday night.

Mitch Duncan will use the game to prove that he has overcome pre-Christmas hip surgery.

Defensive duo Mark O’Connor and Jack Henry have also been named and will be looking to build on their performances against Essendon in Colac earlier this week.

Rounding out the AFL contingent in action for the Cats will be rookie Bradley Close and veteran defender Lachie Henderson.

The practice match will provide an opportunity for each of the players to put their case forward for AFL selection against the Giants in Round One.

The match will be held at Deakin University’s Elite Sports Precinct at Waurn Ponds.
