PATRICK Dangerfield will play his 14th final when Geelong runs out onto the MCG on Friday night to take on Collingwood in the first qualifying final.

The dual Brownlow Medallist believes the Cats enter this year’s finals series well placed and there is a great belief within the group that they can go all the way this year.

“I think we are as ready as we have ever been,” Dangerfield said speaking to SEN on Wednesday morning.

“I love what we have been able to deliver this season, I think we have players in really good form, I think we are playing a brand that is built for September - so in terms of how confident I am feeling and we’re feeling, we couldn’t be any better prepared and we couldn’t be feeling any better about the preparation that we have put in.

After falling short in recent seasons, Dangerfield is eager to make this year count.

“It is one thing to qualify, but we do not want to be an also ran, we want to be the team that’s left laughing at the end of the season.”

“We weren’t good enough, I wasn’t good enough and we need to own that as a team and as individuals and learn from it, be better because of it and I think we are.”

The first ball will be bounced at the MCG at 7.50pm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early with more than 92,000 expected to be in attendance.
