Scott on the takeaways from Saturday
I thought, especially early, we were good.
The conditions made it a little bit more of a simple game.
With a few exceptions maybe in the third quarter, I thought it was a strong performance.
We were able to continue the momentum that we feel we have built, certainly haven't been getting ahead of ourselves the last few weeks. It was a positive day.
Scott on the list depth
I must admit, I walked in today and crossed paths with Max Holmes, Patrick Dangerfield and Jeremy Cameron in quick succession. I would prefer to have them in the team, but it does open up opportunities for others.
Particularly the way we tend to think about our development program, it doesn't always work out this way but generally, when we bring players up from the VFL it is off the back of a really thorough preparation. Arguably, we wait too long on some of them, I understand that.
Polkinghorne's form, Jhye Clark is looking really good.
I don't bring it up as a form of vindication, but it is an example of why we have confidence that if we do lose a few, we still think we are going to be in pretty good shape.
Scott on Geelong's potent forward structure
I think it is the modern game, having said that it probably has been that way for a little while.
Modern defensive systems are too good for offensive systems that just rely on one or two players, and we have seen that with some of the best teams in the competition at the moment. I think everyone wants it, how you get it is the difficult bit.
Some of those individuals, like Ollie Henry is a good example. He has had his moments a little bit where he has had to bide his time. In that respect, he is not that different to quite a few of the other guys that I have already mentioned.
We think that he has worked his way through that, and now he is looking quite potent. The challenge is that when you bring some players back, how do you manage that and keep all the good that we think we have developed over the last month or so, and add to that without compromising it.
Scott on whether Jeremy Cameron will be back before Finals
I think that is likely.
I am also wary of even giving any indication because I think I have been pretty consistent with this, but I tend to not worry about it or forecast too much until you are in that final week or two.
But it is a giveaway when you see him out on the training track, doing basically everything that the other guys are doing, that he is not too far away.
It is not dissimilar to the situation in the pre-season, where he was held up from contact with his arm, but he was able to do a lot of running.
He is actually in really good running shape, and I don't have too many concerns that the lack of football will hurt his touch.
