Quinton Narkle hopes his hamstring troubles are behind him as he looks to stay on the park for the remainder of 2019.

The exciting midfielder made his return to football through the VFL on Saturday and got through the match unscathed.

Narkle was the leading disposal getter on the ground in the first half and finished with 19 disposals in limited game time.

“Three quarters was my cap, so I got through that and did what I could for the team,” Narkle said.

“I came out and got through the game (unscathed) which is a tick.”

Narkle racked up five score involvements and five tackles, stating that it didn’t take him long to physically impose himself on the contest.

“First few minutes I was blowing a bit but after that I felt good, I felt quick and strong which is what I wanted to come back and feel,” he said.

“Good to be back out with the boys, we have a good group there and it was a bonus to get the win.”

The 21-year-old has had a rough run of injuries this season but hopes those troubles are behind him.

“Physically I feel pretty good, it’s been pretty hard the last few weeks because I’ve had all these niggles going on and it took a few extra weeks to get my body right,” Narkle said.

“I was saying to a few of the boys that I feel really happy and comfortable out there, felt like I haven’t been away at all.”

Narkle is no stranger to injuries, from rupturing his ACL in his first season at the club to his hamstring battles today, it hasn’t been an easy road.

But Narkle hasn’t let his injuries get him down and hopes he can get a good run at it in the future.

“It’s been tough, but I am still young and have a lot of footy left in front of me,” he said.

“There is a lot of other boys a lot luckier than I am, but I am doing what I can and just grateful to be where I am at.”

Narkle has managed six AFL games in his short career so far but wants to get his body to 100% before he contemplates adding to that tally.

“It’s obviously a hard team to crack into but I’m just focusing on my body,” Narkle said.

“Hopefully get through the rest of the season whether its AFL or VFL, I don’t really mind, just want to continue to put good games together.”
