We take a look at which players are in the selection mix for our top of the ladder clash against the Lions at the GABBA this Saturday, thanks to Thirsty Camel.

Mark O’Connor
Missed the past two matches with a toe injury. Has shown in his 18 games this season that he is an important member of Geelong’s defence and if he can prove his fitness, he is a likely inclusion.

Zac Smith
A late withdrawal against North Melbourne, Smith could come straight back in to provide support in the ruck.

Charlie Constable (41 disposals, 14 clearances, two goals)
Constable was everywhere in Geelong’s VFL win against North Melbourne on Saturday. He finished with 41 touches, 14 clearances and 14 score involvements to be named best-on-ground.

James Parsons (33 disposals, 11 inside 50s, six clearances)
Responded to his AFL omission by being named in the Cats’ best. Stood out around the stoppages and drove the football inside 50 on 11 occasions.

Sam Simpson (28 disposals, five clearances, five tackles)
Was excellent in traffic and fed his outside runners superbly with his quick hands inside. Building some nice form in the backend of the season.

Ryan Abbott (21 hitouts, 18 disposals, nine clearances)
Put his hand up for a senior recall with a strong showing in the ruck. Won his own ball when it hit the ground and pushed forward to kick a goal.

Jamaine Jones (Three goals, 12 tackles, 13 disposals)
Played with a terrific intensity from the first bounce with his defensive pressure inside 50 helping keep the ball at Geelong’s attacking end for large periods of the game. His hard work was rewarded with three goals.

Darcy Fort (Three goals, 14 disposals, three marks)
Backed up his six-goal effort the week prior with another good showing in attack. Is improving each week and putting pressure on Esava Ratugolea for a place in Geelong’s senior side.
