Geelong defender Emma Kilpatrick will miss the remainder of the 2026 AFLW season after sustaining an ACL injury to her left knee at training on Wednesday.

The injury comes as Kilpatrick was nearing a return after being sidelined with a shoulder injury since Geelong’s Round 3 clash against Gold Coast.

Geelong AFLW General Manager Dom Condo said the team had been a source of support for Kilpatrick this week, with the Club fully behind her as she navigates the next steps.

“It’s really tough for Emma, particularly given how hard she’s worked to get back to playing and how close she was to making her return,” Condo said.

“We know Emma will bring determination to her rehabilitation, and she’ll have the support of her teammates and everyone at the Club throughout the process."
