Geelong has made a second trade in as many days, with the Cats securing the services of star ruckman Rowan Marshall from St Kilda.
The Cats have received Marshall and a future third-round pick (2028) from the Saints, giving pick 14 back in the exchange.
It adds further depth to Geelong's list after they secured Jordan Ridley via a trade with Essendon on Wednesday, while also adding Toby Greene as a free agent late last week.
Marshall joins the Cats after 10 years with St Kilda, regarded as one of the league's most talented rucks and a dominant force around stoppages.
Geelong Executive General Manager of Football Andrew Mackie said the Club was thrilled to welcome Marshall to GMHBA Stadium.
“We are delighted to bring in someone of Rowan’s calibre, he is a talented player who brings a wealth of experience to our ruck and key position stocks,” Mackie said.
“We’re really excited Rowan wanted to be part of our Club and continue the next part of his football journey with Geelong.”
Originally from New Zealand before making the move to Australia and growing up in Portland, Victoria, Marshall made his AFL debut in 2017 after being selected in the 2016 Rookie Draft.
Establishing himself as one of the competition's premier rucks, Marshall has been a consistent performer across 177 games with St Kilda, averaging 17.5 disposals, 14.7 hit-outs and five clearances across 21 games in 2026.
Marshall joins Jordan Ridley and Toby Greene as the newest Cats to arrive in the off-season. The 2026 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period runs until Wednesday 14 October.
